Princess Margaret Dental Oncology Fellowship Application

The fellowship in dental oncology is a one-year program intended for a dentist interested in gaining further clinical and medical skills in managing patients with a cancer diagnosis, in particular those which impact the oral and maxillofacial complex. The fellowship year will involve rotations within the dental oncology department, including general dentistry, maxillofacial prosthetics, oral pathology and oral and maxillofacial surgery. In addition, considerable time will be spent in the departments of radiation and surgical oncology (head and neck cancer patients) and medical oncology (patients with hematologic malignancies and patients on anti-resorptive therapy). The fellow will also have dedicated time to produce research on behalf of the department. The stipend for the year is based off the equivalent pay for a medical fellow at a similar level of training, approximately $65,000. Interested candidates should submit an up-to-date CV as well as a letter of intent outlining their interest in the program. Only those applicants with a dental specialty degree, hospital dental residency or equivalent or a minimum of 2-years experience in clinical practice will be considered.

Applications for the fellowship program open Oct 1 and rolling interviews will be conducted. Applications may be submitted at any time. Applications will close January 1, however if a successful candidate is not selected by that time, applications will remain open until February 1.
